Acoustic Noise Measurement & Simulation
ARCON has developed techniques and procedures to collect acoustic noise recordings and characterization data from virtually any communications platform. Calibrated digital multi-channel recordings at high samples rates provide accurate and complete acoustic bandwidth. Weighted and non-weighted Sound Pressure Level measurements are also collected.
The high quality audio recordings and characterization data are then used to simulate the acoustic noise environments of these platforms within an isolation chamber uniquely equipped for the task.
Human subjects, hired and trained by ARCON, are placed within the acoustic simulation and use microphone systems both resident to that particular platform and/or under consideration to either generate recorded speech material for input to candidate speech coders or use the coders interactively; performing dynamic, two-way, communicability evaluations.
